Another challenge at Fitztown

First I need to apologize for this post being late...I'm struggling with technology lately and seem to be having issues with scheduling my blog posts.

Challenge #33 - Lots of Layers

Here's what I created for the latest challenge at Fitztown - Lots of Layers
It was very hard to photograph this well, so I've attached individual photos of each piece.

I used this wonderful set of butterfly images FAE 18 which you can find here !

I coloured them with my copics (bright pink and orange)
I matted them on pink and orange cardstock, added a layer of acetate with the printed words on it and matted each of those on black cardstock.

I attached the images together using bright pink satin ribbon from my stash.

I hope you'll head over the Fitztown Challenge Blog and play along with lots of layers for a chance to win a prize.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Fitztown Birthday Blog Hop on May 24th.

We cropped from 9am to 9pm and Helen and I won 1st and 2nd place for the most pledges
Helen with $411 and me with $310 in pledges.

We had a great time and shared table space with
Kim of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Krafty Girl Kerry too!!

A great big Thank you to my pal Peggy who was part of the Crop Out Autism Team
and just happens to bake the best treats in the world !!

A lovely Angel...

I created this lovely Angel card for the latest challenge at One Stitch at a Time.

Isn't she just stunning?!
I used rich colours on her, as I wanted her to look elegant.  I think she does !!

You can find this lovely image here

The theme this week is ANYTHING GOES, which means you have no excuse not to join in...it's so easy-peasy to play along.

I hope you will hop over to One Stitch at a Time and play along !

Time for another challenge at One Stitch at a Time !

Well it's already Sunday April 20th..and spring is just starting here in Southern Ontario (thank goodness).  We have no more snow, although we woke up to snow on Tuesday morning!   Spring might actually arrive before summer this year.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.  Anyhow...onto the challenge this week at OSAAT!

This week our challenge is FAVOURITE THINGS, and those of you who know me, know why I chose these lovely Birthday Tickets from Stitchy Bear

I've used all the sentiments when I created my cards and my favourite is "Growing Old is Mandatory, Growing Up is Optional".  Isn't this just a perfect sentiment? !
Here's a couple of the other cards I created:

I hope you'll pop on over to One Stitch at a Time and show us your FAVOURITE THINGS
and play along this week.  Good luck.

Hope your day is Par-Fect

How about a little GOLF Humour to start off your Easter Weekend (Good Friday)?
(The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up Stamp set I got several years ago)

I was able to use this lovely digi from Dr. Digis called Golf Clubs for this card.

It's PAR-FECT for my Uncle's Birthday
(which is a long way off, but hey, always good to be done ahead, right?!)

I created it for the latest challenge at Brown Sugar Challenge Blog

I used Burlap patterned paper on this card.  I had a piece of burlap to use, but in my messy-crafting ways and trying to tidy, I somehow mis-placed the real burlap, so I had to settle for this blue burlap patterned paper.  I'm pleasd with how it turned out.  The paper does look very textured in my opinion.
I used my new favourite embellishment - enamel dots made from melted Perler beads !!
Shhhh don't tell my son I raided his bucket of beads and made myself a nice little baggie of enamel dots!!

Well now it's up to you to play along this week with us at Brown Sugar for a chance to win a prize.

Happy 50th Birthday Mustang

Today the Mustang turns 50 - April 17th, 2014
We were very excited to take part in a 50th Birthday Photo shoot for Ford of Canada
on Saturday April 12th, 2014.
The photo shoot was an aerial shot of Mutangs from many of the years between 1964 and 2014
in the shape of the 50 !!
We are in the ZERO at about 3 o'clock on a clock face
(white 1986 Mustang GT convertible, red interior)
Our dear friends Terry and Melissa were also in the photo shoot and their 1979 Pace Car is right in front of ours in the zero !
Very exciting.

Here's a great YouTube video showing the event.

It's time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion

...and this week is a fun one...Bunnies, Chicks, Eggs a.k.a.EASTER !!

I've created this card using a really cute image from Stitchy Bear called "Easter Bunny"
 which can be found here.

I coloured the image with Copics and used this very spring-like gingham paper from my stash for the background.  I found these lovely gingham flowers at my local dollar store a week ago, and realized they would match perfectly with this paper !!  I drew the grass in using my Copics and a flicking-technique I am learning in a Copic course.  I used chalk to create the cloudy-sky look around the image.

I hope you'll HOP on over to the CYP Blog and play along (sorry for being so corny)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Friday...Guest Design Team Day for me at Fitztown

I have some very exciting news to share with you this week...
I've been accepted on the Fitztown Design Team as a permanent member,
so this is my last post as Guest Designer, the next ones will be as a DT Member!
How exciting is that? I just love Fitztown...the team is wonderful and of course the images are just simply amazing and cover so many topics and areas of interest.  I'm soooo thrilled to part of this wonderful team.  Thanks Ema !

On to my post for this week...

This week the challenge is Spots and Stripes and I was so luck to be able to work with this lovely image

I chose this image because it reminded me of my cat Mystic (pictured below)
and my dog Elly who is no longer with us (also picutred below)

I tried to find an old photo I had of the two of them together, but can't put my hands on it.  Arent' they cute?
Anyway...back to the purpose of my post...LOL!!

I created this card for the latest challenge at Fitztown which is SPOTS and STRIPES.  I coloured the cute image with Copics (trying to colour the cat black is just about impossible for me with Copics, but I'm practicing and learning a bit everyday so maybe one day I'll be able to colour a Mystic cat.

I was so lucky to find this gorgeous patterned paper in my stash, which was just perfect for my card.  The Sentiment is cut from a strip of the paper too.  I add some bling (as I love to do) and a bit of my standard white satin ribbon and voila the card was complete.

I hope you like my creation and will pop over to Fitztown to play along.

Happy 4th Anniversary Meljen's Designs

Here's a card I created using a FREE image from Meljen's Designs to celebrate their 4th Birthday/Anniversary.

Coincidentally it's my birthday week too...but I'm way over 4 years old !!

Meljen's Designs was the very first digital stamp company I used and I've loved them ever since.
I've been lucky enough to win some challenges and also to be a Guest Designer earlier this year at Meljen's.
If you haven't seen the lovely digis created by Melissa, please pop on over and check them out.  She's got some amazing designs and I'm showing you another of my favourites here (from a post a few weeks ago)
I bet people who know me can guess why I like this one !! LOL !!

I'm entering the top card in the Meljen's Designs 4th Birthday challenge.

Awesomesauce...

and here's the side view of the easel card

The image is from ZAP POW DESIGNS - check them out on Facebook !!

I've created this card for the latest challenge at Craft Your Passion.
Challenge #208 - No Designer Papers

I used plain white cardstock as my base, and matted the image on black cardstock and then mounted it on some corrugated red cardstock I had in my stash !!  I added a bit of bling here and there too.

It turned out pretty cute and I plan to give this to my Uncle who always puts ketchup on my home-made mac and cheese to 'bug me".  LOL!!

I hope you'll hop on over to Craft Your Passion Challenges and play along this week.

Thinking of you

I created this card for the latest challenge at Brown Sugar Challenge Blog - #88 - Clean and Simple
These are my favourite types of cards; I certainly gravitate to CAS cards.

The image I used is Flowering Limbs from Robyn's Fetish.

I coloured it with copis and added some shadow with some pastel pencils (I'm new to this and it didn't turn out exactly right, but the flowers and stems do have some depth so I must have done something right).

I hope you'll pop over to the blog and join in on the fun.
