A new challenge at Craft Your Passion

I created this lovely card for the latest challenge at Craft Your Passion

It's an easy-peasy challenge as you just have to have a ribbon somewhere on your creation.

My image is called  FLORENCE by ArtbyMiran
and you can find it here

Check out the blog and play along with us.  I'd love to see your creations.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY COLOURING

I'm pleased with how the dress turned out but will be doing a much better job soon once I get at the latest class at  Kit and Clowder  CLOTHING.  I've just signed up and I can't wait to get at the lessons.  I've already improved immensely from taking the Skin and Hair class (and I'm only part-way through).  I can't say enough about Alyce Keegan and her classes at Kit and Clowder. Hope to see you on the Facebook page sometime or in the chat in the classrooms.

Kraftin' Kimmie Krop - Challenge #5 - use 2 images on your creation

This card was created for the 5th challenge for the Kraftin' Kimmie Krop last weekend.

I used two wonderful images from the set SMARTY PANTS.  The challenge was to use two images on one creation, to I put this together by masking the girl in the desk, then stamped the boy.  It was fun to create this card and I'm pleased with how my hair turned out on these images even though I'm struggling to get fine flicks happening !!  I'm loving my Skin and Hair class at Kit and Clowder and have learned so much and improved in my colouring.

Kraftin' Kimmie Krop - Challenge #4 - All things shimmery

This next challenge at the Kraftin' Kimmie Krop last weekend is challenge #4 - all things shimmery.  I used one of my all-time favourite images for this, and just matted it with a shimmery paper.  I hope this counts in the "all things shimmery" guidelines !!

I also popped the world up off the image by stamping it a second time and colouring it in.  I think this looks really cute on the card, although it didn't photograph as well as I would have liked it to.

I really need help with my pleats/dress, but I'm going to be starting the Clothing class at Kit and Clowder this week, so I will definitely be trying this image again once I get some lessons under my belt.

Kraftin' Kimmie Krop - Challenge #3 - Use unconventional colours

This is the 3rd challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's Krop last weekend.  This challenge was fun because it was to use unconventional colours, so I decided to do a funky haircolour.  I also carried over the same image from Challenge #2, and did the paper-pieced dress/skirt again too.

Don't you just love her crazy haircolour?  It was done with B00, BG09

I had a lot of fun with this creation.  The image is called LOLA LOLLIPOP and can be found here.

Kraftin' Kimmie Krop - Challenge #2 - Paper Piecing

Here's another card I created for the 2nd challenge of the Kraftin' Kimmie Krop!

This time we had to do paper piecing on our creation.
I used this cute polka dot paper to piece the skirt.  Don't ya just love polka dots?  I know I do !!

I used this lovely image called Lola Lollipop which can be found here.

Kraftin' Kimmie Krop Challenge #1 - Fussy Cutting

I created this card for one of the five challenges at Kraftin' Kimmie last weekend for the Krop.

This challenge was to do/use fussy cutting on your creation with a Kraftin' Kimmie image.

I used this great image from the set called YOU'RE FANG-TASTIC by Kraftin' Kimmie artistCheryl Alger.

I love how cute this little guy is and he reminds me of my son.
I will be sending this card along to Kards for Kids, Hospital for Sick Children.

A simple Happy Brithday card

It's very CAS (Clean and Simple) but fits the bill for the requirement of no embellishments
(choking hazards), and besides who doesn't love bakers and/or cupcakes !!

I used this cute Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp

I'm entering it in the current challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie (Anything Goes)

A magical substance...

If you know me, you know I LOVE my COFFEE !!  Sooo I was very excited to create a coffee-themed card for the latest challenge at Brown Sugar !!

Here's a cute card I made for the latest challenge at Brown Sugar Challenge Blog.

I had some fun while creating this card thinking about how true the sentiment is.  You can find this image (Stella Peeker - Magical Substance) and sentiment at Bugaboo Stamps (right here)...and also check out the FREEBIE Friday they have going on each week.  I do love Bugaboo !!

Hope to see all your wonderful and colourful creations at the Brown Sugar Challenge Blog.

Design Day at Fitztown

It's my turn to showcase something I created or designed for the latest challenge at Fitztown.

I created this lovely scallop circle card using the wonderful image FAE 37 which can be found here.

The challenge at Fitztown is a SHAPED CARD, so this is what I created.

I had a lot of fun colouring it up and think it makes a beautiful card on the scalloped card base.

I wanted to share with you how you can create a shaped card and have it STAND on it's own without ruining the integrity of the shape.  I learned this awhile back at an online card class I took.

1. cut two of your shapes out of cardstock
2. cut one of your shapes out of patterned or coloured paper and attach to one of the white bases
3. score the remaining base about 1/2 inch from the top (in a straight line)

4. add a strong adhesive to the scored portion only

5. carefully line your card up so that it is going to stand properly on a table (i.e. don't let the image be crooked or it will not stand properly)

Now your card is done and stands with the base backing of the card with the bend in, and your front image is intact.

I hope you enjoyed this little tip and will play along with us this week in our Shaped Card challenge.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Grats !!

I created this card for one of my dear friends daughter who is moving from Grade 5 into a new school for Grade 6 !!  She loves teal so I used that as the main colour on my card and decided to use the STAR embossing folder to acknowledge what a STAR she is!  I hope she likes it.

I'm entering this in the current challenge at Meljen's Designs - #215 - Texture

Teacher Thank You Card

Here's a card I created for one of my son's two teachers to thank them for making Grade 2 such a wonderful experience for him.

He asked me not to make it too fussy with flowers and stuff, so I've kept it pretty clean and simple.

It uses a lovely Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp called SMARTY PANTS which can be found here.

I followed the sketch provided by Sassy Chery's Challenge Blog (with a little bit of creative license)  I hope it still counts as an entry in the challenge even though it's not exactly the same as the sketch.

I'm entering it in the following challenges:

Birthday Pug for you...

This cute little birthday card was made for the latest challenge at Craft Your Passion !!

It's for the latest challnege #219 - Bold and Beautiful
Use bold, bright, beautiful colours !!

This cute image is called BIRTHDAY PUG from 2Cute Ink and can be found here.

I must admit I do have a difficult time being random, so putting those little sequins down probably took as long as colouring and creating the card !! LOL

I hope you'll pop over to Craft Your Passion and play along with us this week.

I'm cutting it very close to the wire to enter this card in the Dies and Punches challenge at Lacy Sunshine.

I used the cutest image "Abigal Heart Wishes" from Lacy Sunshine !

You can check out the challenge at Lacy Sunshine here.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Shabby Chic at Kit and Clowder

Here's a Shabby Chic Card I created using the image

It's for the latest challenge at Kit and Clowder.

We are also sponsored by Live and Love Crafts this month,
who specialize in everything Shabby Chic and Vintage !!

I coloured this image up in some of my favourite colours (pink and purple)
and really had some fun adding all the shabby chic elements
(lace, pearls, flowers, and distressing the edges).

Anyone who knows me, knows this is WAY out of my Clean and Simple comfort-zone!!

I'm pleased with how this turned out !!

My colouring is improving thanks to the Skin and Hair Class at Kit and Clowder.
