Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #167 - Fussy Cutting

Here's a card I created on this snowy day in Southern Ontario...for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #167 - Fussy Cutting...and it was fussy cutting...the hair was pretty hard...just sayin' !! I based this card loosely on the sketch I saw on "Moving Along With the Times" blog challenge...similar to the previous couple of cards I created today !! Special thanks to my pal Peggy T. for allowing me to stamp this lovely image using her stamps !!

Meljen's Designs Challenge #148 (and another for MAWTT Sketch Challenge)

Here's another card I created on this SNOWY day in Southern Ontario...I am submitting it in the Meljen's Designs weekly challenge which was to use one of their images, and also POLKA DOTS...I hope the giraffe and the embossed part of the card count as polka-dots !! I'm also submitting my 2nd submission in this weeks "Moving Along with the Times" Blog challenge which was based on a sketch...see my previous post...it's always interesting to me how a sketch can look soooo different on cards !!

Moving Along with the Times Challenge - February 27

Here's a pic of card I made for the "Moving Along with the Times" Challenge.  The sketch was pretty easy to work with, and I used a FREEBIE image from Meljen's Designs and coloured it with my copics...quite pleased with this card !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Kard Kit # ??

Here's the card I created with the card kit sent for part of the challenges...I wonder if I won with the correct number of guesses for which participant got which card kit...I won't post my number just yet here, in case there are still votes to be put in.  I'm pleased with my Copic Colouring here and the card looks quite cute.

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #6

Finally...here's my card for Challenge #6...it was to be a summer themed card based on the colours blue and white...I got my inspiration from a card Jennifer McGuire did in Clean and Simple Cards 2 from www.onlinecardclasses.com  I couldn't find my white ink to create the clouds on blue paper, so I used white paper, with blue chalk...we scrappers and card-makers are a smart lot to be able to make do with what we've got...hmmmm...still doesn't make sense I have WAY TOO MUCH stuff in my scrappin' room...oh well...tee hee...tee hee !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #7

Here's another card for the Kards for Kids Challenges this weekend...it was to use a photo of a window box of flowers for inspiration and use florals. I love how this looks like a window...I coloured with Copics and chalked for the "cloudy" effect in the sky (hard to see in the photograph). I'm quite pleased with this one !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #8

Here's another card for the card-making day yesterday (into today) for Kards for Kids, HSC. It's based on a sketch from the "Designed to Colour Challenge blog". I'm thrilled with how this turned out. It uses a lovely Kraftin' Kimmie image and the stamped image, papers and diecut were provided to me by Bela, the organizer of the Kards for Kids, HSC Smiley Team !! I'm having so much fun !! OH YAH...if you're following along, you noticed I went from Challenge #5 to #8...but I'm working on #6 and #7 now, and should have them posted shortly.

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #5

Here's a card I created for the Kards for Kids Challenge #5, which uses the lovely Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp. I based the layout on the "Designed to Colour Challenge" which was a sketch, so I will enter it on that blog for a chance to win a prize...woo hoo !! I LOVE prizes !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #4

Challenge #4 was inspired by a Spanish theme and the colour black as a background...and bright pink, bright green and red. This card didn't photograph well. I clear embossed three different-textured birthday candles on bright pink, bright green and red cardstock...cut them out and also embossed the flames on yellow cardstock and cut them out...I used my bright pink embossing powder on the Happy Birthday greeting...does it ever pop on the black !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge Day

I'm having a ton of fun stepping out of my comfort zone and creating cards based on specific criteria. Bela has organized a very fun and interesting day ! There is a Price is Right game going on, and I am one of 3 finalists...hope I get a chance to go onto the Showcase round !! I'll certainly be posting here if I do...and you may hear a WOO HOO or two if I win !! LOL !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #3

The 3rd Challenge today was to create a beach card using a few things given to us by Bela. I coloured the image with Copics and thought the edge of the card would look nice with a little wave. I'm pleased with how this card turned out.

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #2

The 2nd Challenge today was to use the CHEF stamped image and create something with a buffet-theme...what better than a CUPCAKE buffet ?? This card is inspired and dedicated to my pal Peggy T. THE BEST PASTRY CHEF I KNOW...and a wonderful friend too !!

Kards for Kids - February 23 - Challenge #1

I'm participating in a Kards for Kids Cardmaking Challenge today...from 10am to 10pm, however I was at a Bazaar from 10am to 3pm, so I got a late start ! I've put together this card for the first challenge; it's using papers and an image provided by Bela at Kards for Kids, HSC. I coloured with Copics and added some Stickles to the flowers to give some sparkle.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #165

Here's a submission for Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #165 - a card with love...the cute chick is a KK stamp, and the greeting is a Stamps of Life stamp...it's stamped in Silver ink and didn't photograph well...but it says YOU WARM MY HEART. I created the background with a very old snowflake stamp and some distress inks (a technique I learned in Tim Holtz on-line class); the card looks much better in real life than in the photo.

More Kards for Kids...

Here's 5 more Kards for Kids BOY Birthday cards I made...thanks Peggy T. for the use of the diamond-plate embossing template...really adds to the cards !! I coloured with copics without too much worry for shading, etc., but I think some young boys at Hospital for Sick Children will like them anyway !! THE MUSTANG STAMP IS FROM RUBBERNECKER STAMPS

Kards for Kids - more boy cards I created

Here's a bunch of boy birthday cards I created for Kards for Kids, HSC. I had fun playing with my copics and colouring the images. The hair and fur on the dog were certainly a challenge, but I was starting to get the hang of if by the end of the day. I hope the kids at HSC like them.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Challenge #164

Here's a card I created for the KKS Challenge #164. The challenge was to use texture on your card. I used my polka dot embossing folder for the blue strip under the coloured image. I played with my copics yesterday and had some fun and even learned a little !!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #163

Here's a card I put together for the KKS Challenge #163. The challenge was to use something old (the photo flips and brads) and something new (the Snow White Stamp from KKS - a present from my pal Peggy T.) You can't see in the photo the glitter I added to the dress, but it looks pretty cool in real-life (to quote a much-used term of my sons).
